Ok, the creative vision has cleared just enough for a skinnybike build. I don’t know why these things always happen in the middle of the night. I will base it on the ‘60s Wayfarer Flyer and the 90’s Centurion Accordo. (More photographs and descriptions of these in the fresh finds category…)...
Flyaway Is a 1960s Western Auto Western Flyer Wayfarer Flyer, which used to belong to the old lady across the street.
This was basically a mechanical overhaul of a bike which has not been operated in 30 years. I got rid of the heavy steel rims and put on some lightweight aluminum rims from a 26 inch Schwinn mountain bike, the tires are CST Calderas. Seat came from my mongoose fat bike.
I laced the coaster hub to a “schwinn” alloy rim
Refitting the cottered crank:
She flies now.
