Can you fold Schwalbe Fat Franks? They're steel bead tires, and i've heard people folding such styles, but not really sure with these cruiser style ones. I was going to have someone bring them overseas for me folded up in a suitcase. Any ideas?

From what I know about bike tires...

If they are indeed Steel Beed,DO NOT FOLD THEM! (Chance of breaking the wire bead)

See if they can get a Bigger Suitcase to keep those tires ROUND.

Yup, that's what I guessed. I also called Schwalbe (Germany) and they told me that I should not bend them in any way. I guess I'll try to find another way to get'em shipped without being bent. Thanks for the help, appreciated!

I've had wire bead tires shipped to me, folded just once, so they make two circles. They were fine. Just sayin'.

This is how the tires were sent to me, they were these tires, the awesome Nokia Mount & Ground studded tires. They came out just fine. They were fairly loose in the box, tied into the loops with shrink wrap. Peter White Cycles ship their tires folded like this. Good luck!

^^ I also had mine sent to me folded. The box was not too small so it wasn't like they were ironed to fit in there. I was kind of pissed about it because there was a crease on the tires, but after a while it disappeared.
