I was gonna bid on it too, but it go up and I would not have had time to bump my bid even if I could have affortded it. The fenders on that bike are easily worth $200. They are six sided stainless pieces. THe seat was probably a good $75 piece at least and depending on wheel condition that set was worth about $100. THe person paid top dollar for it whether together or separately.

I contacted this guy once,(Dan) He said he gets his bikes from people he knows, they keep an eye out for him.Dan does live near the windy city.I told him i was just interested in frames if he had them.He said he had some he could dig out,Im still waiting.Seems like a nice guy.

Ha Ha....pretty funny.

I will say...the guy must have 100 friends looking daily for him.

Anyone see Pet Cemetery? I think Dan's place works a little like that, only with bikes.

Seriously, I think I might have run into this guy at an auction or swap meet or two. It is actually hard to tell. There are a ton of serious collectors all throughout Wisconsin. I meet guys every day with collections 10+ strong. And some pretty sweet stuff, too.

I picked up my folks and drove up to Fon Du Lac to Dan's place to get a bike for Mom. Met Dan for the first time and he seems like a really nice, easy going guy. Ended up leaving with another bike for Dad's collection for a really nice price, too. We're looking forward to dealing with Dan again.
