four speed nexus shifter?

im having trouble finding a new shifter and cable for a nexus four speed. ive found one for 3, 8, and afew others but no four speed ones. im going to be replacing one soon because the cable and shifter are shot on mine. any help? :?

Since they discontinued the 4 speed , I bet you will have a hard time finding one to use.
The new 3 speeds are oh so much better and since that place is running one with a built wheel and all the stuff new for $79 , its about time to switch.

According to a bikeshop-owner, a Sturmey Archer 4-speed gripshift works on a Nexushub too. This could be true,'cause on my own bike,I've connected a Nexus 3-speed gripshift to an SRAM 3-speed hub. Its works perfectly, although I can't confirm, it's the same result on a 4-speed.
If S.A. material is easier to come by, it's worth asking around,if these two brands also mix with 4-speeds.

wierd you mentioned the sram one becaaauuuuuse i went out and looked after seeing that picture and there is a sram twist shifter, not a nexus. but the hub is nexus. hmmmm :wink:

What I meant is, in 3-speed hubmodels,you can mix Nexus with SRAM. I'm not sure if that's the case with the 4-speed hubs.
And this is the Sturmey Archer twistgrip,I meant. It supposedly works with a Nexus 4-speed hub.

well case just got closed, oddly enough. i went to the local bike shop and asked if they had one. i now have a four speed twist shift off a parts bike. a trekking four speed shifter. even had a good cable. 20 bucks and they put it on.

bump. went for a ride today, shifted to third from second, heard a bump and clunk and the little cable nut thing at the back end came off was going to be a good ride on saturday to

well i got it working but it is definately rigged. theres a little solder ball at the front in the shifter that holds it in place, and thats what broke, so its definately shot
