Frankentrike build, spindle mounted wheels brakes question

I am planning on restoring this old project that was damaged and disassembled years ago. It's a hammerhead trike using hollow hub wheels on spindles up

front. What is the best way to add brakes to these wheels?

I would vote for disc brakes attached to one lever. You will need to make some adapters and drill your hubs, and of course some adapter on the spindle for your caliper. It would be an interesting fabrication.

I have a little cart I built with those type wheels, which came off of a Chinese welding cart.
