These are a couple builds I am doing for friends and work. The Schwinn had a seedy life in the past as the Serial # had been ground off, so ? on the year, but I am doing a repaint and cleening it up as much as I can with the parts given , Huffy crank and sprocket, crazy bars and heavy duty rack front wheel is a Schwinn, needs tires, tubes, LOTS OF PB BLAST  , so far it is coming apart ok, its down to the frame.

And a Friend of mine picked this up as someone was throwing it away Dahon Stowaway five speed drum brake, should be fun.

Re: Frisco Schwinn & the Throwaway Stowaway

The Schwinn looks like it was taken down to bare metal then painted with no primer. It looks like some faint numbers on the left dropout where the serial might be, unless it's older and had it under the bottom bracket.

I am really impressed with how the paint came out, from a rattlecan  I tried a can of auto touch up paint from Orielly auto parts in 60 degree weather, now to clean up everything else.

And I don't know if the rim is gonna make it yet, pretty rusty

I used the same paint I believe and it's held up well. A few scratches here and there but when it's summer I just do a quick touch up and it all blends well.

Ignore the brown saddle, that was temporary until the white leather one arrived

Re: Frisco Schwinn, Throwaway Stowaway DONE!!

Got the Dahon Stowaway finished, it needed alot of chrome cleaning, and working of the extending seatpost along with the stem ,plus it was missing hardware so I replaced the tubes and kept the original 16" bricktread tires, had to find a knob for the brace release that attaches to the headtube, also had to look in the parts bin for a thumb shifter replaced the chain, cables, adjusted the derailer, and the drum brake, waxed the paint, greased the bearings and replaced the seat and threw in a gel pad, another bike saved from the trash. now waiting for payment

Now to get back to work on the Schwinn ,got the tires and tubes from Chimichanga so it should be done soon.

That turned out great! 8)
