hey, new to all of this stuff and having a problem with my front hub. it is cracked and I need to find a hub and axle set up. I took it to a local bike shop and to replace the hub they want 65bucks, way out of my budget for this bike. I dont want to put a new wheel and hub on it. So i guess my question is, how hard is it to replace a hub and lace the spokes? Or, does anybody have any vintage wheel/hub setups that would work for my jetfire? Also, anybody know what hub to get for that bike? Any help is great!

I was wondering if somebody could tell me what hub and axle i need, and where I may be able to get these parts from. Looks like I may be able to swap it out myself. Thanks again

Anybody? I would be able to repair my bike if someone could help me out and let me know what size hub and axle I need for a murray jetfire. Not sure where to get parts like this, I am a noob and need a hand

i don't know if any wholesale suppliers would have anything for your shop to order nowadays. classic bike parts specialists like memory lane classics would probably have something. the front hub from just about any older junk dept store 10 speed or juvenile bike with 36 spokes would most likely work as well. remove the hub and slip it in your pocket before you go on the hunt, it'll be pretty obvious what will and won't work. fwiw it's probably a 5/16 axle..... :)
