I ride over an hour a day. And I do it on 1930's to 1950's vintage 26in balloon tire bicycles. I want to true-up the vintage of my seating on the earlier bikes. Is there such a thing as a sturdy prewar long spring saddle suitable for everyday use by an adult? Are the ones with steel rail chassis better than the 2 wire chassis? What are your experiences? :?:

Nobody? Really??

This is my most comfortable old seat. It's a Troxel but I don't know the model number. I could ride this seat for an hour a day no problem. I'm not positive this is a prewar seat, but it would pass. Laid back seat post seems to help too. Gary

I would say that is a Troxel teacup style, some version of which was available prewar late 30's early 40's. I think I probably have a couple of these.

My Experience on most any seat is keep the front end down. I ride much more than an hour. Heck I ride an hour just around the swap meet. But keeping the seat level is important, Old Seat or new cruiser seat.
Ride more and get your buns used to it and you will find it more comfortable.
