Ok so I had to go searching the Schwinn catalogs online and found a couple bits of info. 17" frame (crank center to the top of the seat tube) is the biggest camel Schwinn made and their reasoning wasn't style. They used a bent top tube to lower the saddle for shorter riders. Also I could find no camels after 1970. So all you who said the 17" camel was the biggest Schwinn made are correct. Build on @MattiThundrrr, what's up with your bike today?

Sachs torpedo, I'm told it's two speed. Feels pretty sticky in there, guess it's learning time.

Really like the profile on these steel rims. Nice and wide for a skinny.

I was wrong I swore the duomatic was in there that's the single speed.there off a 1960 gazelle. Ive had them for a while always loved the gold trim. It'll match your head tube.

Doing rust removal and further cleaning today

Going try to wash the rust away as gently as possible. Basically just scrubbing the frame with a cloth with CLR on it, avoiding the paint as much as possible

I just love that frame. You guys up north stumble across cool Canadian bike frames, and here in Tucson, I come across Mexican made Benottos once in a while.

And I noticed your smudge pot in the background under that birch. I have a couple up at our camp that I fill with citronella and use the tiki torch wicks with to repel the 'skeeters. Found them at a local garage sale up north. I wonder how many of our builders know what the original use was for these 'smudge pots'....anyone? Bueller?

Nice to see lots of love for that frame. CCM made mostly camelbacks and double bars. We find them all over up here. Most fit 28 inch dutch style tires they tend to be larger frames.
We get them for 40 to 50 bucks

I guessed that it was some kind of roadside marker, skin to a flare.
