I gotta find one of these!!!! I've never seen this version.
I did some research on this poster and this is what my sources tell me:

The lithograph you have is known as "the rocketeer deluxe print". It was produced via a combination of offset lithography and serigraphy. The limited edition version is gold and signed by dave stevens.. The artwork was drawn by dave stevens and it was somewhat distributed through disney.. It was sold during the same time the rocketeer film came out in 1991.. There are two versions of this print. The Gold Limited Edition signed print and a regular white background print (instead of gold it was white and not signed)...
btw, it is now safely in my hands and will be welcome wall decor in short order.

Yes, yes you do! lol. Sorry, I totally forgot about the ridges on the chain guard ...just put it on my tab

The front fender has been completed! All four 'tins' are painted and ready to go. I just want to give them some time to harden up before they are shipped off for those delicate finishing touches. Then maybe, just maybe I can get this thing together and actually ride it!

Your paint work is really great so far! Are you doing all of this with rattle cans? Very impressive. :D

Yes, I do all the big stuff with rattle cans. Smaller details will be done by hand. I would have more consistant paint with professional guns but its hard to beat the simple convenience of spray cans. I'll get there sooner or later but after 20yrs of honing my spray bomb skills, its hard to move on! lol

Re: Gee Bee Tribute Bike

can you give tips on removing the stencils

Re: Gee Bee Tribute Bike

You how when you just start to really get rolling on a project, all the sudden something comes along to shake up your whole situation? Yup, thats totally happening to me right now. There is a strong chance that I'll be starting a new job in Tennessee on Monday so I've been frantically packing and getting ready for that. With any luck I'll get the parts in the mail to you before I go, then you can take your time and mail them back to the new location. Time will tell for sure, but thats how its looking. Hope to get back to normality soon.

Re: Gee Bee Tribute Bike

Its official as of a couple hours ago, I am starting my new job on Monday! Which means this project is officially on hold ...for now. (Which is mildly funny because one of the last pieces for the bike finally showed up in the mail today! go figure  ) Thanks for all the support and encouragement so far guys! It has really helped a lot! I'll be back on this soon enough, but feel free to poke me if you think its taking too long, lol.

Re: Gee Bee Tribute Bike

It seems I might as well let the cat out of the bag, before someone spy's my return and calls me out on this. It has been almost a year since I first started on this project and I am Finally just now getting back to it! Some days it seems forever ago, others just yesterday. Thats a funny thing about memory isnt it? The new job is going very well and I am finally moved into a house here in TN and Finally getting back into my projects. I can tell you I have been going stir crazy for the last year without touching any projects! So expect a fast and furious return to this project. I Really want to see it done and I'm sure some of you do as well. So, sit down, strap in, and hold on for this race to the finish!

Yesterday I unpacked and organized all the parts, trying to remember where everything goes.. Unfortuantely the frame has been damaged over the last year so it will need to be refinished. I'm going to a couple blasters today to see about powdercoating it. The tins are Gratefully in mint condition so they can be pinstriped as soon as I reestablish contact. Most of the parts are present and accounted for however I am switching up a couple things and the handlebars seem to have run off. More new parts are on the way and a couple new ideas are forming so Stay tuned!

Hard to tell, but theres Most of a bike on this table...

Re: Gee Bee Tribute Bike *Back at it!*

Oh boy Im excited! I have a handful of builds bookmarked in my net favourites, and this is one of them! Around Christmas I was looking at it again and thinking "man, I hope he finishes it someday/maybe he'll sell me the project so I could..." I used to be a bit of an aeronautics freak, and the Gee Bee racers are BA! I remember as a kid watching seeing the R-2 replica fly at Oshkosh WI.

I can't wait to see this one complete!
