Geronimo - 1970s Columbia Apache with aero discs

I got this 1970s Columbia Apache from @josh_from_ga last year. I plan to flip it. I needed to clean it up for resale, so I figured I would go ahead and put it in the MBBO as well.

It's not really a build, or a complete restoration. It was already is decent shape, but I did need to break it down and thoroughly clean and give the chrome some love and such.

Here is the before pic.

I actually started working on it last weekend.

Here are some before pics of when I brought it to the courtyard.

Removed the seat, cleaned it up.

Steel wooled the sissy bar chrome.

Took apart the front wheel. The discs where a bit dirty and had some scuffs. The wheel chrome was mostly good, but definitely needed some steel wool.

I forgot to take an after shot of the wheel chrome, but here are the cleaned front discs

Also cleaned up the front fender. Gotta love the condition that these stickers are in.

Cleaned up the chrome on the handlebars and stem.

Did more work this weekend.

Here is the after of the rear wheel and discs. I always love how well vintage chrome looks after a little steel wool and WD40.

You can see the after of the front wheel in this pic. At this point I had already taken the rest of the bike apart and did a thorough cleaning and was starting to put it all back together again.

Whoaaa! I felt like I had been in some kind of time warp, waking up to a new entry - and then seeing it completed right before my eyes!

I'd market it in Arizona for sure, that's got local vibe written all over it. Cool little bike and nice work on the spiffafication. Very cool KF!

Poor little bike. Looks like no one has ridden it, ever, in forty-five years. Hopefully you’ll find it a good home where it can carry some kid to freedom and adventure.

By happenstance a stranger was inquiring about another muscle bike that I posted on FB. As he is trying to get me to sell it, I let him know about this Columbia Apache. Well, he gives me my asking price on the Apache. Afterwards he tells me why he wanted the Apache. What are the odds that the first person that I send a pic of this bike to, just happens to own a 59 Chevy Apache!! Small world and great ending to this bike!
