Picked this up on Fathers Day. It's missing a hubcap, has some brushed on paint over original which appears to be white. The railing is the rarest feature, patented in 1934 by Globe which was bought by Garton in 1938.

Very cool with the artillery wheels! I hope you can find a hubcap.
Repops are available but would be shiny new. I guess you could get four. My high school car was in primer but had some nice hubcaps.

Started some cleanup on the Garton Yankee Clipper. Not sure what the original color was. Bottom and sides white, maybe original paint. Top and bed appear to be repainted red and some blue splatter. The railing may have been nickel coated, now some coating and some bare metal. Artillery wheels were white and maroon. The under carriage is/was silver.

Probably going to refinish undercarriage, tongue and bed. Wheels will stay as they are with new caps.

I will be watching! :)
I have yet to use it but I will someday on something.

I went over them with WD40. The BLO should pop the color a bit. A couple of rail close ups. The anchor screws are probably too rusted to get them loose without breaking a bolt off.

View attachment 54957 View attachment 54955 View attachment 54954 Man that sure is slick ! I build wagons a pedal cars besides bikes . That one there is pretty cool . All 4 of my grand kids I built a custom wagon for among other things ......

Cool monster wagons! I have a Radio Flyer that I was thinking about putting some bigger wheel/tires on. On eBay there are some pricey bumpers, lake pipes and side rails. Also saw some extended chassis similar to your rat wagon.

Then I ran across one of these Schwinn wagons. Ordered one to see what they are at 49$.

I've taken the wagon apart, cleaned the wheels and painted the undercarriage parts hammered silver. The bed got stripped and is sporting a primer coat. I'm undecided on wagon bed colors.
I think the bottom might have been white and the top a maroon red. I didn't find any evidence of graphics and it appeared to have been repainted.

So it can be custom!
Did you get the $49 wagon yet?

Yes box. Is in garage. It is marked Schwinn from pacific cycle. I haven't unpacked it yet. There are a bunch of eBay listings, but only one at 49$. They have sold over 400 of them. There are also red and black versions out there.

Finish concept is fluid...R-O Satin Claret Wine and Ivory Silk paint.

Application of Ivory Silk to bed bottom and sides today.

Paint work about done. I'm going to put a wood panel in bottom Aka old pickup bed. I found some wainscot T&G bead board at HD, even precut to 32" to match wagon bed. Of course I'll need radius the corner pieces and use some sleepers to stabilize and clear bolt heads.
