Man, that Columbia should have been preserved. IMO it was more valuable before.
I'll second that, they ruined a nice original, and wasted a ton of $ on new chrome when they could've bought better original parts for much less! As far as the Schwinn Chuk posted, sounds steep to me. If it was a real repop Phantom, which cost around 3 grand new, yes. ~Adam

Yeah, there's 3 old Raleigh knock offs in my neighborhood going for $60-$130. All of them WAY shinier than that. Of course that is the rare 23" frame.

Or done with some kind of style. They should of painted the struts, bar/stem and seat post red....'cause it needs more red.

The problem with a lot of people is that they think if they put "x"$ worth of parts in something, they can sell for twice as much. 99% of the time you're lucky if you can get HALF back. Unfortunately, there a sucker around once in a great while that will buy something like that, and then everyone thinks they can do the same thing.

I think my bike is nicer than that, but I don't think it's worth $2000.

Also, I agree, that person ruined a nice original bike. I didn't...My bike had virtually no trace of whatever it had looked like originally when I got it. I may as well have put my name on the tank instead of Roadmaster, lol.
