Were going to Niagara Falls next week and may rent bicycles while were there. This is our families first trip there. Has anybody ever gone there and rented bikes? Are the bike paths 9 year old friendly? My son is 9 and he's a good rider but I'd like to keep him out out of heavy traffic.

I live about 45 minutes away from there but I don't remember seeing any bike rentals, maybe I should open up a shop eh? As for the paths, they are nice wide paved ones. You could ride from the Falls all the way to Fort Erie on nice, not that busy trail. It goes all along the Niagara river which is nice scenery. Have fun, we are actually due for a Falls cruise ourselves.

In Lockport about 15 miles east of Buffalo is a great start for the Erie Canal bike path. Here it runs for 60 miles on the canal tow path instead of the roads. Start some place near 245 Market Street in Lockport, New York. Some of the streets that cross the canal are lift bridges. I just did 20 miles to Middleport and back on the 12 of July. Flat
