I use GoPros a lot. I own several and have hundred of pics and videos shot with them. (venture to FourPlayFilms on Youtube if you want.
I always have had a problem with using a GoPro on my cruisers because they can only face in 90 degree increments. My bars are curve back so there was no way to get a straight forward or straight side shot. After hearing that you could use a few GoPro tripod mounts to make a completly adjustable way to mount from a friend....he explained it roughly but left a lot of things out....I headed to the shop with my bag of GoPro mounts in hand.
Here is what I came up with and a brief explanation:
I took 2 GoPro tripod mounts and cut a piece of 1/4"-20 all thread about 1 1/2" long. Screw the all thread into one tripod mount, screw on two wing nuts as shown (with a star washer on each side then screw on the other tripod mount. Unfortunatly the tripod mount has a three post mount as does the handle bar mount. I took a short 90 degree adapter and cut the flared nut holding side off the three post side so there is room for the GoPro bolt to thread into the GoPro nut. With the system mounted (you can use a normal base, handle bar mount or suction cup mount) losen one of the wing nuts, rotate the camera to the desired position then tighten the wing nut.
