Never got one as a kid so at 40 I broke down and found this on CL not a bad riding little machine. Took it to a LBS and they said it was cool for an old school bike also had two kids wanting to buy it off me. I seem to like it so I might find another one

Can anyone tell me anything about this bike?

Nice one! Can't tell you much about it though, except that its from the late 90's, if I recall correctly.

Perhaps someone looking at this thread also knows something about the BMX I bought yesterday? :D
(I don't wanna hijack your thread Charlie! )

The Redline is an RL240 (that was simple! )

More specifically, It's a freestyle model from the mid(?) '90s. You can see the gyro, potts mod front brakes and standing platforms, items the racers usually don't have. The steep steering angle leads me to believe it's more of a flatland bike rather than a ramp/skatepark bike. There should be a decal on the frame stating if it's tri-moly or 4130 chro-mo. A very nice mid-school freestyler you've got there. :D

Easy - I have no idea about your BMX though. I've never seen one like it, but that is one cool looking frame!

Both very cool Bikes..

Easy,
I have no Idea what yours is

But looking at The Components I would say it's an Early 80's for sure.
Don't sell that one untill you Learn More!!!!
It's a Keeper.

It almost looks Hand Build, ?
what are the Welds Like ?

and The Redline.....cool Bike for sure,
peace,
Kev.

Thanks guys!

I was thinking the same Kev, can't really find anything of a brand yet.
I'm not an expert on welds, but I'd say someone Tig-welded this, no machine welds. The cranks used to be blue too, just like the handlebars and seat-stem and chain.
The thing was never cleaned, just a lot of old oil and gunk in all bearings.
For sure I'm keeping this, I like it a lot!

My BMX isn't as rare as I first thought, there's another one for sale, in the same area. Looks pretty unused... asking price is quite steep, though.
