Well 54shadow, I just realized that we basically have the exact same welders. So new advice. For frame welding I sleeve everything and go high heat, wire speed at 9. Anything that isn't under stress, I use low heat. The high heat will burn holes but if it's neccessary to weld thin metals at high heat, try alternating where you are welding to let one spot cool while you weld another spot. At least get a wire brush, and if you need to weld over something you've already welded, clean it with the brush first. Welding over slag and spent flux will weaken the weld Also, the little 1lb spools like what is included are expensive when bought separately. Usually around $10. Once you've used that spool practicing (which won't take long), hit the hardware store and you can get a 10lb spool for $40. Once you install the heavier spool you'll need to adjust the tensioner on the wire feed wheel since it'll be pulling more weight.
