Well i got this idea yesterday. And today I made it happen. HAHAH! Heres what I got.

I started with a used Huffy Green Machine that I picked up from a guy on Craigslist for $20.

I stripped it down to the main frame and steer axle

I then cut off about 5" from the rear of the main frame and notched it to clear a support bar that was welded on the steer axle

After some careful measuring for trueness I welded the steer axle to the main frame

With the rear welded up i focused on the front fork next.

I cut the factory fork section off of the main frame

I also cut the same fork section off of another bike that I picked up today as well.

Once the two for sections were mocked up I then proceeded to weld them together. And then grind. And then weld some more... lol

Now that the fork was good I moved onto the neck. I used a piece of 2x2x3/16" steel square stock.
I roughed in an angle and ground out a recess for the neck tube.

All that was left was to attach the neck and downtube to the lower frame section. I attached the seat and moved it to the furthest rearward position. I then cut out a 2x3 opening into the top of the lower frame section.

With the two halfs roughly fitted together I ran a finish weld around the top seam.

On the bottom side I bend what was left of the lower frame section up to meet the downtube and finish welded those two pieces together.

Once the fab work was completed... this is what i ended up with.

It free wheels. Im going to start prepping for paint tonight. And once its painted I will install the front brake.

Probably get some pics of it painted tomorrow.

Actually.... HAHA I am already working on parts for my next trike. This one is currently getting painted and will fulfill my hopes of looking somewhat similar to an original big wheels.

But my next one..... I am KINDA shooting for something like this.

But I wanna do a 26" front wheel. Just need to find more green machines for the front hubs. They are kinda scarce around here.

I also dont know if I wanna do 20"s with a stretched tire, or 15"s with 33" all terrains on. I could do both. Im planning to use newer chevy 6lug front hubs so that I have more options for wheels, and mounting will be easier.

Got some paint work done. Its getting close. Just waiting on my grips and pedals. And gotta finish up the front wheel covers.

As much as I want to jump into another stretched bike build, I am having to much fun with this one right now. Im gonna finish it as correct to the original as possible. And when i get bored I'll either sell it or rebuild it and make it more rider friendly with pneumatic tires and a more comfortable seat. lol

Well my grips came in today. What a world of a difference. I realize that being 6'5" it is a full body work out to ride this thing. lol

And I found this gem on craigslist today so i figured I would scoop it up for the next trike build.

I snapped up a 24" unicycle on ebay...I haven't used it yet, but is was like $50 and it's basically a fork with that style hub, with a seat on it...probably a lot easier to come by than a green machine.

Yea but unicycles dont freewheel. So you could constantly be pedaling your butt off. lol
Yeah...yeah...I did think of that (after I got it). lol
I was thinking about putting pegs on it to rest my feet. I mean, if it's not safe and a little dicey...what fun is that? lol
(I actually had never heard of a green machine until I saw this post)

HAHA yea its gotta be a tad sketch in order to be tons of fun. lol

And you can still use the unicycle fork ends so it wasnt a total loss. If you go to the bikerassine like that i previously posted, you can get a replacement wheel for the Hill Kicker Pro and use that with your unicycle fork. That may be your best bet. Then just build the rest.

I also strongly suggest anyone who trys this to use a stronger axle and wheels in the rear. It is definitely the weak point on this current trike. I will probably go back and rebuild the rear with a go cart axle of some sort and used hubs and shifter cart wheels.
