This bike has alot of reasons to envy other bikes....

Chrome flaking off goose neck and chainring...

chain rusted to the point of being one continuous loop of steel....

tires were flat as pancakes and cracked worse than an egg dropped from a twenty story building...
seat holyer than swiss cheese uynder what is left of the seat cover....
bottom bearings and pedals frozen in time along with the front fork....
So why did I buy this? I wanted the bracket for the truss rods!!!
And now I pose this question... what is it? Who made it? Possible year? of course I am sure its not original anything but if you can help narrow it down that would be great!

Its Huffman built, serial number should be on bottom bracket. Weird frame, is there a lower bar missing?

i have a 47 dayton(huffman built ) and those drop outs are more pointed and blunt ended where as these are rounded at the end and no there is not a missing bar that i can tell

Yeah, definatly Huffman built with what looks to be a wald chainring installed to (my guess) convert from skiptooth drivetrain. Late 40's. ?

Soon to be seen in RRB7 yeah thats right it is currently 245 pm on Monday the 30th and I am about to start my entry for RRB7.
If kingfish can produce beerrun in 30 days, why can't I try for a bike in less than a week!

5H005013 finally found this serial numbeer on the left rear drop out. Any ideas?

The first number before the "H" is the last digit of the year, so 1945, 1955, etc. I'm not sure when they stopped using those dropouts

thinking outloud here, but isn't that style of seat off of a earlier stingray?

Huffman used those old style dropouts through the end of 1958, the last of the rear facers until the BMX era. I'd say this one's a 1955. -Adam
