Handlebar Info

I found these bars a couple days ago at a local bike co-op, and I can't find any info on them. They're stamped Lee Chi NB-2502, 630mm. Does anybody know when these were made? What kind of riding we're they made for, I'm guessing early mountian biking? Thanks in advance.
