I was looking around HF the other day and came across this chain break tool.

http://www.harborfreight.com/heavy-duty ... 66488.html

The package said for chain number 420, 428, and larger motorcycle chains.
The package also stated for motorcycles and bicycles.

I don't know bicycle chains by those numbers, so am wondering if this one would work well for bicycles?

It is heavy duty, for sure, quite a chunk of metal.

Anybody tried one yet? I almost bought it because my little park tool is too small for skip tooth chain.

That looks like a pain in the sack to use.

9 bux...use it once it will break throw it away.(lemme guess...its made in china)

Do yourself a favor and spend the extra cabbage and get a Park Chain Breaker.(I've broken more than one cheap chain breaker)

Never broke my Park!

I used to work in an HD shop ('70s) and still have my 'big' chain tool, it just doesnt work on bicycle chain, though it has the beef that I wish it would.
BTW, my dremel easily grinds the head off on the pin I want to press and that takes almost all the stress off the smaller 'cheap' bike size breaker. I do like using nice tools, though, it just makes the job go so much better and I feel good using them. Its the right season to ask 'Santa' for a few nice tools!

I have a Park CT-5, but it will not handle skip tooth chain (chain too thick).

If you would pick up the HF one, it's so heavy I don't believe you'd worry about it breaking.
I was thinking that it's too hefty, which is what it sounds like so far from glen rich.

thanks guys

ive got one, its not great but it works. the pin is a little crooked so its hard to keep it lined up while tightening it, and needs to beground down a hair so you can get the link back off once the pin is out
