Hard bike to google

Not much for me to go on. New departure rear hub, peaked fenders, not a skip tooth.. "general" branded. I think I've seen a bike with a similar junction behind the bb & it was a Columbia..? The middle tube being Arrow straight looks like my jc higgins.
I don't recognize the chaining or chainguard.
I'm lost

Any help is appreciated!

Pretty sure it is a Columbia. The dropouts and chainring are indicators. Looks to be a middleweight bike and that is why the kickstand area is different.

Thanks. Glad it was easy. I didn't realize it was a middle weight til I went to get it today, so that puts it around? 56? 61? Any guess on year?

Anyone have any insight as to where this bike came from? As in who retailed it? The "General" headbadge makes it hard to search.

General tire possibly? There was a later General brand in the 70's, but I imagine they're probably unrelated. They sold bmx scooters, bikes and mopeds, but I think most of that stuff was imported from Taiwan. Their logo had a gear behind the name.

If I'm reading the serial correctly, B 31454, then it's a 1956 Columbia (Westfield Mfg) made bike. That's from the Mr.Columbia website serial number page.

Maybe it's my iPad screen but those peaked fenders and wheels look bigger than middleweight.
