Hey,

The RRBBoff6 work is done.
Had to have a new project
The HRLiner came in at 27.5 lbs with a 9 lbs frame
I wouldn't trade it for the world but I want to go lighter

I lost a bid war on EBay for an aluminum monarch frame
So I changed my mind and went with something I know

Here is what i bought tonight at a pretty reasonable price
I love the twin top tubes and they're buttressed!

This is the second one we own.
I bought my wife one for her birthday. She stripped it down but we left the 3 speed and she just kinda liked it
I put it together more simply (Shimano single speed coaster, aluminum rims)
and with some input on seat and grips from her
She loves it now! She started doing teenage dismount tricks with it after an hour
It sits at 24 lbs with quite a bit of steel still on it
It's one of the smoothest bike I've ever ridden

I gonna try for 22 lbs and Mondo stiff gearing.
Fenders, chain guard, 3speed gone
(I want the SA 3speed for something else eventually)
I'm thinking maybe some non-machined Red Super Deep Vs (lighter than the wife's wheels)
Plus swap in mostly aluminum parts, we'll see

What do you think?

Thanks for looking

Hey guys,

Thanks for the compliments!

Sorry, but I can't leave well enough alone
Remember my first version of the HRLiner?

The paint looks really good yet :D (I hate stripping and painting)
But it rides rather clunky now.
It has Wards tires (maybe originals) on it and they are very weather checked
I can't stand flat tires :x
It has mismatched crank arms too :(
But there is a lot of 3speed Raleigh parts that work on it
Supposedly it was taken apart and overhauled, so things should come apart without an enormous hammer or torch.

I'll get it in the build section eventually but I have a couple of builds before it.

Thanks for looking

So that's what they're supposed to look like! Good find... Can't wait to see what you do with it.

I've finally got a few miles on mine and I love it. I agree that something about this frame just makes it ride smoooooth and quiet. Gonna be hard to strip it down again for paint... :)

Current weight is a very portly 31lbs, 12oz and it flies! I'm sure you can get to 22 lbs - I've got steel rims & handlebars & steel toe-clip pedals & a long steel seatpost, 4-cross spokes, pretty heavy leather seat, probably a bunch of dirt and cobwebs and hornets nests and crap still inside the tubes, and a 4-pound Bendix rear hub. When I decided to replace my cranks, I found a Japanese set that worked perfectly... If you can score some aluminum ones you'll be in great shape.
