Got a chance to buy this Hawthorne for 150 bucks.
They say it's from the 40s, does anyone know if this is true?

Would be a good contestant for a gender bender right?

Well here she is guys, i feel like a kid in a candystore haha😅
Really nice patina, and she rides great!
Previous owner installed new tires.
ND front hub, Bendix rear hub, skiptooth chain.
This patina will be hard to recreate if i decide to gender swap it😲

He found it in a really small town, the people were Polish. I was in a hurry so i couldn't ask the entire story, i will send the seller a message to ask since i'm curious😌

I think it's a series 3, 1947, right? Serial starts with a Dxxxxx Cw
The only thing that i don't understand then, aren't these fender braces pre war?

Bendix began making those hubs in 1946, I've got one that was on my 42 Hawthorne (it originally came new with a New Departure hub) and your rims look the same, so I would guess they are the original wheels.
