Hello.. 58 years old now and have this itch to build a bike like I had when I was very young. Looking for a 1980 red mongoose decked out in all red. Did a few BMX races in Texas and bike got stolen. Bike was a red Team Mongoose, Red..redline forks.. red tuff neck gooseneck.. red 3 piece cranks.. redbullseye hubs..

if anyone has a team mongoose frame or red line forks from this vintage time period, hit me up..

thanks!! forgive my ignorance, mine was a team mongoose which was a candy frame.. you think I can clean this up and get it powered coated in a candy red and it look right?
emailed the guy :)

Don’t see why not
thats what I am hoping.. the team mongoose had an almost translucent color which was a candy painted over the nickel frame. This paint looks pretty flat and the rear flanges look rusted.. I am assuming all the mongoose's were nickel coated..so.. hoping I can clean it up.. polish it out.. and paint candy to get that look..

If you had proline forks and want those again, prepare your wallet for a hit!

Old school bmx isn’t cheap!
I did and have looked at the prices.. I figure.. one thing at a time..
