I've got an itch to build a bike on air using a pneumatic air cylinder. Does anyone know what size, what brand and what style cylinder would be the best?

Does anyone know where I could get an air cylinder that is single acting, switch ready and has a 4 inch stroke? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Top one. 4" is most realistic as a "first go" at this project, plus it's cheapest. =D

It's 6 bucks shipping from the website, so I figure why not put a 3 or 4 bucks more with what the 4" stroke one will cost and get the 5" stroke one lol

This is the back half I'm planning to use. Where the shock mounts is where I'm planning to mount the swivel that goes on the end of the rod that comes out if the air cylinder. To make the back half swivel, I'm going to use the shaft from the 3 piece sprocket and weld some tabs to the frame and mount the threaded part of the shaft to them. Therefore, making it swivel.

I've been looking into these cylinders too, I think a long cylinder would be good.

Think I'm gonna get one of these for parts. The fork, bars, stem, seat, seat post, wheels and tires, sprocket, bearings and possibly the fenders. I figure its got $89 worth of parts on it. Anyone else agree?

I thinkth at's as cheap as you'll get a new one. Probably a good price for the donor parts, unless the wheels are totally dreadful...

Found this one for 85, it's midnight blue and I think the wheels would go good with a black frame

I'm between this one and the other one. Only thing is, I don't care much for chrome lol
