help me identify this bike

I bought this at an junk auction a couple years ago and no-one can tell me what it is, any help identifying it would be greatly appreciated.

I don' t know either but it is way cool......

I was gonna say vintage bmx but not with those dropouts and brake post. The Star on the seat post clamp should be a dead giveaway for someone.
