help please on this miyata bike

this bike is my friends and ive done reasearch on it trying to figure it out and not having any luck. i would like to know if possible the year, the type of bike and if possible is it worth anything and how much?? and anything else about it expecially the brake system havent seen it before. it is a Miyata and says Gulliver on the chain guard. that is about as far as we got. i apprieciate any help thanks!

What size are the wheels/tires?

Those brakes are rod brakes, typically found on older English bikes.

As you may probably found out, Miyata is a Japanese bike manufacturer that imported mainly 10 speed road bikes in the 70s and 80s, and they eventually stopped importing in the 80s.

I suspect this was youth comfort bike made for the Japanese market that eventually made its way to the US via a military family. *Typically * not worth alot in rough condition, but has some neat parts.
