Help with bearings

ok here I am again with another dumb question lol. Prewar bearing sizes. I got 2 1920s motobikes that were sent to me with no bearings. All the bearings I have in stock are modern sized and too small to fill the cups in the headset. I've looked online and there's wald bearings advertised as prewar sizes but are modern cased bearings. Will those work or do I need to wait it out till I find some prewar bearings? I'm dyslexic so all these different numbers are confusing the heck outa me. Any help I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks

I may not understand the question, but if you're having trouble finding the right retainers you could use loose balls of the correct size instead... ;-)
