The frame is indeed built by HP Snyder; 1941 would be my guess. Snyder did provide frames to Montgomery Ward, so the Hawthorne badge is likely correct.
The numbers you posted are actually not the manufacturers serial number, they were stamped afterward. Maybe it was a bicycle at an auto factory, or stamped by the owner to identify if stolen, any number of things--but if you flip the bike over, you'll find the real serial on the bottom bracket and I reckon you'll also see something like SE14.
