Hi everyone, I am currently repainting my Schwinn cantilever tank and need help.Could anyone post up a picture of the top view of a tank either on the bicycle or off.Im having trouble getting it right and can't find any clear pics of an over head shot of a schwinn tank. All I can find are side views. Also want to check that I have done the underneath right, so any pics of that too would be a big help. This is my first repaint of a tank and any help would be greatly appreciated, Thankyou very much Charlie

need pics like the one's below, showing the paint lines.I have drawn in pencil a rough guide to what I think it looks like but want to make sure that it's correct before I start painting.

and be sure to post an intro to let us know who you are

Hi Sensor, thanks for the reply.I have just added a little bit about myself to the intro forum viewtopic.php?f=9&t=19443#p197504 .I have been meaning to get one up for some time.I have only had a little bit of time to check out the forum, but from what I have seen so far, there are lots of really nice bikes on here, lots of good advice and very friendly people.

they look to be about 1 1/2"- 1 3/4" (sorry just noticed youre in england  ) 37mm-43mm from the start of the curve on the top

This is how I did mine. I can take more pics tomorrow from straight above if you want. Your frame has the DX pattern and this blue bike is a B6. You might have to adjust slightly. Gary

Yep that is me on the cabe.I have a simular username ( char56 ).Yeah I know wasp's didn't come with tanks. When I was repainting, I thought if I not really going down the total restoration route, I could play around when some different bit and add on's.I really like the tank look and it can always be taken off whenever needed and I could restore the bike at a later date. Thanks also for the measurements! I will have a go at masking some lines today and hopefully get painting soon.
