Help!!!

OK, I'm old and old fashion and I cannot figure out how to get these confounded modern grips off! Usually I use a rag to protect the handlebar, fit an adjustable wrench to the bar up against the grip and whack it off with a mallet. Last time I tried this style grip I gave up and trashed them but these are the original Dyno Grips that came with the bike so I'm trying not to destroy them. I backed the end plug out off the mounting screw counter clockwise and removed the sleeve and I'm still struggling. I got one grip to move about a half inch and the other not at all. There must be an easier way so if you can help me I'd much appreciate it, Thanks! Robert

not familiar with those, is there a set screw at both ends of the grip maybe ?

I bet the emd caps on one end or the other come off and there is an allen set screw.

Those look pretty cool. It's got me thinking. I wonder if BMX foot pegs could be used as bike grips?

I have a pair of Dyno machined aluminum KK grips that look like those, except the end caps have skulls.It's a tight fitting rubber liner inside.So try inserting a tiny screwdriver into the front end between the handlebar and the rubber. Put some soapy water in there.Keep working around and down.Use a non marring strap wrench to twist the grip and break it free.

Hi! Yes, you described it perfectly - when I took the end plug and outer sleeve off there is a very flexible rubber liner left with the opposite end piece still attached. It's because the liner is such a flexible rubber that it won't bang right off like stiffer material grips - these suckers HOLD! I'll try the soapy water idea - am I the only person whoever tried to take one off? I snagged some Purple Flame Grips that match the overall paint scheme of the bike a little differently that I wanted to try. I had no idea they were all this difficult to get off.

I'll take some pics of the inner parts so the rest of you can see what I am talking about. These grips never accidentally slide off, that's for sure. Thanks for the help guys! Robert
