I was reminded that I actually did join here a while ago after being told another straggler has made his way unto here from RB, likely following the bourbon and stale beer trail left by your instigating propagandists. You know who you are.
My name is Chris and I am severely menrally ill which can be determined easily by the company I keep and the fact that I thought I'd find solace by taking up the hobby of building bicycles. All it has done is exacerbate my insomnia, triggered hoarding disorder and drained my bank account and living space. But I find that a happy equilibrium can be found once you dilute your sense of reality with enough ethanol to make a hippo go blind.
I like all things bicycles, but probably belong best with the funk and skunk of the foreboding alt cycling crowd and the xbiking connoisseurs. I try to do blends of modern and old, lower and higher end to get that magical combination of useable and somewhat presentable. The utilitarian aspect is the key for me, as I see the bicycle first and foremost as a mode of transport. I got a pretty diverse fleet, and have gaslit myself into thinking that the variation makes it more sane. So when you look into the eyes of loved ones and explain why you're in the double digits of bicycle ownership, you can explain that it is because you were reminded of those days at the ice cream stand, where you had to have every flavour. Until they put the liqourice sprinkles unto the cocoa powder and it somehow became foul.
Here's a few of my steeds for your titillation.
