Working out the Sissy Brake. The mount will clamp in four places. I’m excited to put the brakes on hard and see if it twists.

Thanks. It may fold me up under the bike when I hit it hard. Brakes are for sissy’s anyway.

Mocking up the shifter position so I can cut out a relief in the insert where it mounts. Then a chain tension test. I may have to make some room for adjustments.

Due to my constant back and forth from Wichita Kansas to Lakewood Colorado, I am changing this build name to the “High Plains Drifter”. I was born I Wichita and lived there until 2013. I left to live in the state that I spent most of my time vacationing in. I have been working on my home in Wichita for quite a while. I’m close to being finished and putting it on the market. Meanwhile, I chose to build this bike, instead of tossing it into storage. I think I will give this bike to my wife for our anniversary in October. At least, it may justify the time I will spend on this build instead of time in getting this house done.

Made a relief on the insert for the shifter hardware. Also made some mounts for the insert that will allow it to “float”, rather than having visible mounts.

Mocking up the handlebars. This is basically going to be a 26” wheel, 16” bike with a 24” low rider, springer front end. I’ve thought about adding a board track feel to it with a straight bar type handlebar. This short ape hangar bar was the original plan. One brake and two brake pulls? One will be dedicated to a bell. Ringy dingy!

Thank you OJ! I made a couple of inserts. I’m covering one in the same material as the seat, which was the original plan. The other, I want to build up in foam and fiberglass. If I have the time, I will try to make the tank. At least, I have a finished insert that doesn’t take to much time to create.

Had to stop building a bike to rebuild an A/C unit. Hit 85 degrees in my house today. So I replaced the screamin demon of a condenser fan motor. Back to bike building. Everything’s cool!

This is an attempt to make a head badge for all bikes that I want to make. If you are on IG, I am shrunken_head_pedaler. I am using Sculpy and a mold from a 1966 Mattel Thingmaker. I will them cut either a piece of brass, copper or aluminum in some shape and epoxy the pieces together. Well see if it works out. Sculpy may crack. I added a bone to the heads hair for a little depth to the piece.
