Thanks for the motivation Kingfish. I have collected a few more pieces. A NOS 27 inch rim set with a sturmey archer 2 speed kick back hub with a coaster brake. I do not know if they View attachment 161154View attachment 161155View attachment 161157View attachment 161158will fit the frame, it may be a good option. Also a flask and a brake lever set that goes in the end of the handle bar, it will depend on which wheel set I go with. And paint. Now I just need the frame and parts back from the bead blasters and I can get busy. Thanks
I need me one of those flask holders. For medicinal purposes of course.

Hello all. I finely got to work on mocking up my bike. Not without a few hick ups along the way. My sandblaster let me know he will not have time to do such A small job as my bike parts ( after waiting 5 weeks). The next thing was, the fork is split, so today I just mocked it up and had fun trying a bunch of stuff to see what direction we were headed. Here is where it ended up, nothing is carved in stone. I am still on the fence about some of it.

Since no reply, and nobody asked, I'll tell you what I think the fork is. It looks to be a Brodie Gator Blade, a high quality piece. If it's one of the early versions, hand made in British Columbia. I've seen them listed for over $300. The newer ones are hawt too

Hello and thanks for the positive comments. I did some more mock up today and changed a few things. I changed out the stem, I thought the other one looked out of place. I changed out the wheels, I could not get a good chain line with the other set up, this one is way better. I know that some of you liked that fork but is was not truss rod friendly ( and I really wanted to keep the truss rods). So I went to the shed and found another fork. And thats today’s progress.

Thanks frogtown, I did get a little more time in the shop tonite. I finely got a kick stand to fit, it is a butterfly style that both legs come up on the left side of the bike ( I know that no self respecting hipster would have a kickstand on his bike.) but it is the only way I can store it and I do not like leaning a bike against anything. And I put a chain guard on I am not sure it is going to stay. And that’s tonites progress. Happy building😁

Cool build!
I like the truss forks better for this ride.

What holds the truss road bracket under the fork crown? I have never really looked at one in real life.

In this case the bracket for the truss rods is bolt on. I am working on the fine details such as a bracket for the flask, the mounting of the chain guard and the seat hardware. I have been trying to pick a color combination so far I a leaning towards a butter yellow on the frame and fork with black or grey accents. This may change when i see the million colours available at the powder Coating store. Thanks and happy building.

Hello all, I have not been active this last month (life gets in the way, in a good way). I just had a look a the bikes that are already finished. WOW I am just trying to get to the finish line. Today I made some time to work on the bike. I finished grinding the welds and sanded the rest. I am going to leave it the way it is and finish it in satin clear. I still have to sand the truss rods and brackets and the fork. This bike has had a few colours so they will all be present. Here are a few pictures, it is good to be back, happy building.

The redline chainring is a left over from my son’s bmx racing days. It is a 45 tooth, I do not know how it will go. With the 27 inch wheels, we will see.
