Homemade girder fork??

Has anyone ever tried to make a home made girder fork like the one on this gary little john?? Im interested, I want to make one for one of my bikes

Those wouldn't be too bad to make, I thought you meant the kind that had a suspension....I was toying with the idea of making a set with cast aluminum fork legs 8) 8) 8)
