I found RRB last year when I was looking for info on parts & about customizing bikes like my Murray Monterey which of all sites that had anyone talking about Murray bikes, this was the only one that had respect for all bikes and never said Murray's were crap and didn't treat them like crap either.

Same story here, it's not that I hate schwinns, its that everybody has one, wanted something different!!

I had been on the Schwinn forum, and the CABE. There are some great folks over at the Schwinn site, but the forum itself is kind of dying off. There really isn't much connection between Pacific cycles, or what passes for a Schwinn bike nowadays, and the folks who are real old school bike nuts. I frequently read posts referring to this site, but I figured it was sort of a rust bike only crowd. When I actually checked out the forum here I was very pleasantly surprised. The vibe here is warm; the bikes here are wicked cool. Can't think of a better combination.

I was given a 1950 Columbia and wanted to build it up to put a motor on, I was trying to use motorizedbikes as a forum for help, but they were stupid and didn't seem to care much about... anything, haha, so I built the bike on my own, it turned out to be flat black with red rims and whitewalls, after a friend saw it he sent me a message about this forum, turns out I'd built a rat rod bike and didn't even know it (I was inspired by rat rods, but didn't know of RRB). So I immediately joined and have loved the family friendly and helpful nature of this forum.

Since being here I've led 3 other people to join.

A friend turned me onto the Facebook page, then I was invited to the website.

I found RRB while looking at aka_locojoe's web site that shows his bike adventures and the Coasters BC ( not long after this he build the Coasterbicycleclub.com web site ) that I was a part of. He had a link to RRB, and I liked it, I then lurked for about a year ( Im kinda shy ), then joined. Id a joined sooner to be in the first RRBBO but was already into a rat bike build ( Crazy Maes "Star Chief" ) when I found out about the buildoff. Its been a bad habit ever since.

i was over at chopper bikes. was there when we started the Burrito bikes. i always had a rat motor cycle chopper. then things got bad at choppers and before the site folded i was looking for rat bikes. came across this site, stated reading and looking. so here i am and i ain't goin nowhere else. this site rocks and thanks Steve for keeping it as good as it is. of course all the folks on here are great too so that helps. you all rock.

Yes, it's embarrassing, but we're all 'family' here.
That search led me to 'Electra', which led me here. I think the first bike I remember from this site was Karfer's 'Higgins', changed my life it did.
