How do you remove chrome?

I want to paint some parts that now are chromed.
What´s the easiest way to get it off?
Or is there some good stuff to prime the surface before painting without removing chrome?

Automotive paint suppliers sell zinc chromate primer that will etch chrome but a good face mask is a must . Good luck with that one right now .

Does chrome come off with sand blasting?

Sand it with 320 and prime with an etching primer.
