Jawa, let me put it another way. If you drove 6 hours to get here, and no one else showed up, the free tour of the museum would be worth the drive. THOUSANDS of bicycles....I visit a few times a month, and see something new each time. It really is a cant miss museum. And Craig changes rooms around alot. Theres a newly remodled showroom now. Check out Bicycle heaven on facebook. Thats the best way to see some previews.

  • The last Bike Heaven show was a good day , the swap is still relatively small , but growing . The party Craig had was great , too bad none of you guys came back . A lot of " Cyclists " & friends of Craig were there , then later , when the shots were flowing , things got a little crazy . I don't know if he's having a party for the fall meet . But . I'm sure we could organize a ride after the swap , being that the bike trail is right there .

Well, for me, it'd only be about 4.5 hours drive time. I can't view the facebook page because I'm not a facebook user, so I'll have to take your word for it. At this point, I'm giving serious consideration to going, but I'm going to have to see how the schedule falls. If I'm not mistaken, at the moment I think I have to be in Cincinnti the day after. I'm not sure if that works for me or against me at the moment. I'll have to get back to you all on that.

Ah. Thanks for posting that, it certainly looks like its worth visiting. Now about the swap meet part of it, is this just folks with some parts in the backs of their trucks, or does one actually have to register a booth and pay a fee, etc?

I'm
2 hours from St Louis, MO
3 hours from Nashville, TN
4 hours from Memphis, TN,
6 hours from Chicago, IL,
6 hours from Kansas City, MO
9 hours from Wichita, KS

... that being said I would love to make it to a Midwest Bike Fest or Tour de Fat but I will take what I can get. :)

Looks like that's the same weekend as the Bicycle Heaven one. It seems his show catagories are heavily BMX-skewed, with only a few other classes for other bikes.

Regarding the bike show at Bicycle Heaven, is it broken into classes as well? How organized is it?

Jawa, its a free swapmeet. No fees. Just his lot, full of cars and trucks with lots of bikes, and parts. No show, like a contest. Showup, show off ur goods. There was a guy with a dozen Schwinn road bikes, none for sale, just show. NO trophys......its a swapmeet.

Gotcha. Sounds better all the time. Now, to sort out the logistics...

Well, I'm definately going to have to be in Cincinnati the day afterwards, so if I can arrange to stop at Bicycle Heaven on the way out on the 16th, I will. Do we have a count of other RRB members that know they're attending?
