I've got this if it fits the bill. No longer have the wheels or seat from the pilot, $140 or $100 without the tank (neck stem is stuck).

I've got this German Higgins with 3-piece crank. The fenders are from a Columbia and the wheels aren't original nor the chain guard I think (NOS Goodyear tires). I have truss rods that I think will fit it. $140 for this one (no kickstand). If you want to build your own rat, I also have a 49 Monark Super Deluxe frame and fenders you can take for $80. 60s Bendix drop center chrome wheelset 26x2.125 for $40.

Not the frame style I'm really looking for. But I appreciate the offers. If I could choose it would be like the Hawthorne bikes with the split top tubes. I might have a line on another bike just waiting to hear back from the guy.
I googled 49 Monark Super Deluxe and in the images the third row down is your avatar. Kind of funny.

Is there anywhere around the valley that is good to go hunt for parts and stuff? I'd love to have a go at that place up in Rye but I hear it's hard to buy from there. I was thinking of going to the salvage yard in Mesa.

Yeah, I've been tempted to go to Rye, even with all the bad comments on the place. All of my stuff has come from RRB, CL, Ebay or friends. Ebay can be good if you find a local auction with a high shipping price. Like I said though, the main thing is spending a lot of time checking CL and RRB or just getting lucky. I missed out on a really cool bike here on the forums last night by just a few minutes

Kevin, what style of frame are you looking for? Is it a Schwinn DX or a spaceliner frame? there's a couple of space liner frames on here for sale.

There was a follow named Larry in Mesa that had a nice bike collection, But I just found out that he passed away last September(RIP Larry). He was a great guy, he would talk your leg off and you wouldn't mind.

I'm liking the spaceliners.
A coworker said someone down the street from him used to collect bikes but past away last year. He was going to talk to the widow about what she was going to do. That would be weird if it was the same guy. I'll ask what his name was.

Yes, that would be a little weird. Larry lived at 8150E. Butte Mesa,Az. he was a real nice guy, friend to all. There was a couple of guy on this site a year or so ago that know him, not sure if they are still here or not.
