how to "suede" up powdercoated rims

Before i really screw up my rims, I was thinking of "suedeing" out my gloss red Felt rims. Give 'em that flat look like that of the Higgy frame.

Would a scotch brite pad work or should I wet sand? I'm afraid I'm gonna ruin them.

grey scuff pad with some water will dull them out....although if you ever want them shiny again youll have too rub them out by hand...and im not sure how well rubbing compound would take out sand scratches on powder coat :|

I'd spray them with dull clear coat.
