For a while now i've been building cargo bikes, wether it be a trike or long bike.

But I've always got bored of them or something goes wrong and they break down and get torn apart, after 18 long bikes i've finally got it! The one that is very enjoyable to ride and does a very good job. I put alot of thinking into this one, and tried a sturmey archer coaster brake 3 speed hub!

So I had a problem at first. I needed a frame to start with but it had to be the perfect frame. Then after a week or so I thought about my old nakamura, it's a awesome frame that has a durable paint job and the frame size is spot on. but I was getting rid of it because the stem was wrong size and I leant over to much, it's a really weird size.

So! I also needed a cargo bike and really wanted to keep it, in the end it becoming a cargo bike solved both issues! combinded into one with a 3 speed hub is very lovely

So I have here the main frame donar, it's a great bike.

And of course a piece of junk was needed, this isn't the one it came from but same type of bike

I was gonna post build process but i've been fairly busy to think about it lol
SO! here is the almost finished product/ That rear rack is a temp one. may just keep it but I prefer one thats never gonna move or break. The parts are all bolted, it's safe and durable but over kill is the way to go!

Good job on your homemade longtail. I love these things and have the parts for a few builds, but haven't done one yet.
My Fugsley build will use some of the ideas around a homemade longtail.

You should post that over on bikeforums.net

That is pretty impressive. Have you thought about strengthening the racks underneath at all?

Like I mentioned at top, this is just a testing rack, the top is being kept but the underside is being remade with real metal lol not bike racks it is a great bike though
