am i the only person that thinks paying more than $50 for one of these is a joke? i've seen people listing them for $300-$800 for a non-vintage bike with a plastic tank and cheap parts. My dad works for Coca-Cola and was there when those bikes came out. the company paid next-to-nothing for them and they were given away (should be a sign of their worth). sorry, just had to get that off of my chest.

Got a picture of what bicycle you are referring to?

Here's the issue though, most of the junk that Coca-Cola collectors collect is just that... promotional junk. If it didn't have the logo, they wouldn't want it and neither would anyone else, but as long as they are willing to pay to put that piece in their Coca-Cola room, prices will remain high. If it is indeed junk, then seeing someone listing one for $800 shouldn't make us mad, should just make use think they are mad... until someone buys it, then who's laughing?

RRB member Ndaway did a "Coke" bike that I'd rather have! (not sure how to post the link to the build thread sorry.) And its was a "ONE OF AKIND" for sure! :)

I like ndaway's bike. I can understand why some people would collect the coke made bike since even tho it dont really that fancy it was put out by coke. Years ago I collected budweiser stuff but the main focus of my collection was stuff that only came from AB as promo stuff

I saw one of them at an antique store and they want $500 in rough condition. Said he seen ones on Ebay go for $1000 which is why they put the $500. He said it's a promotional bike because he or whoever owned it said Coke was asked about the bikes which has no record of them or whatever.

I'm not so sure they are a promotional only bike because Sears Parts Direct have the parts for them and they also have a sticker on the seat tube that reads Licensed by Coke and some weird target looking symbol but white instead of red. Would Sears even have the parts if it wasn't for sale in stores?

I collect Coca Cola stuff. Well, I used to collect, really. I still have most of the knick-knacks, but I don't actively buy anymore.

I have considered building a Coke bike several times, and still might. I've also considered buying one of these Huffy bikes, but the going prices are just too high for what I know is not a high-quality bike. If I ever came across one for under a hundred, maybe.

Yeah, most people want crazy prices like they are filled with "coke" I personally wouldn't want one for more than $50. Maybe $75 if it was MINT PERFECT condition with new tires.

(And then I'd probably part it out)

I have a few 50's and back Coke machines that I've collected over the years. All in above average condition, all work, and when we have a get together, I wish I didn't! Some people go plum crazy over the original stuff and drive ya nuts. I think the main reason being, the average person/collector of Coke, has been dupped so much with all the goblty-goop collectables out there. These bikes are just another example of "Oh Honey They'll be Worth Something Someday" collecting, done by the masses.

Old thread I know, but there's some joker wanting $1500 on CL here in Seattle for one. It's mint but it's still junk!
