More specifically, I blame the artist... no other way to describe it.. who made the Boss Chief. That bike got under my skin for two reasons: 1) It looks great. 2) I'm a Chief (in the Navy). My cruiser is a Dyno Mooneyes which I've had since new in spring 2000. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=58613 After seeing all the great bikes in this forum, I look at mine and I'm bored with it. I was thinking about sprucing it up a bit, but now I think I may just want something new and different.
So, should I just completely overhaul and redefine my Mooneyes, or should I sell it, and use that money to go after something different? (I'm thinking alot about Felt since I just bought my son one).

If I do sell my Moon, what do you think would be a fair asking price?

Small world, huh?

I say go with your heart on this, man. The mooneyes is a rad bike, but you already know how I feel about the felt. You can get a "canvass" frame and fork from the factory for I want to say less than 3 bills... There's a guy i was talking to local who had a frame fork and fenders here for 200...

I just completely rebuilt my WalMart cheapie into my buildoff bike, and I love it!

Greetings from a fellow Chief. I would probably first spruce up the Mooneyes, then get another bike, as well. I seem to be riding a different bike every week, as I fix them up, and ride them with pride.

Keep it, hang it up in the garage, and start in on another one. Make sure you have plenty of bike hooks, there will be more as you go along. My excuse is that I need bikes for when friends come over, so everyone can go for a ride.

Oh crap, Mike! You're a perfect candidate for the 32" cruiser at Walmart. With your height, it would fit you perfectly. Not to mention the $199 price point...you could go wild with that thing with what you'd spend on just a stock Felt!

I'll have to check that out. 32"??? DOes anyone make 32" aftermarket tires yet?

How long does this rationalization strategy work? I'm still getting mileage out of it but I think I may be approaching some kind of limit. I am having a ton of FUN giving some away to kids too, some a bit bigger than others.

I looked over the WalMart thread and saw them... not impressive at all. That frame is a real crap design. :?

I've had to dismantle some and keep the frames up in the rafters, so it only looks like 15 bikes in there. My biggest problem is with 4 or 5 builds happening at the same time, nothing gets done.

My rationalization could be future bikes for my kids.

Crash, no one said you have to get rid of your mooneyes bike to get a new ride.

Now if you don't care for the felt frame I will ask Ronk, if that is the aluminum frame or steel frame.
Ronk, Im looking for an aluminum frame with no welds on the tank, is this the kind that is up for sale?
Thanks

No, I don't like that Wal Mart 32"er frame. I love Felts, which is what he is trying to save me from!
