I REALLY wish I'd run into you at the AA Show...But anyway I promised that this would be the first bike I worked on this season...Well not the
FIRST bike....
As I said the fork was bent...(which the seller failed to mention in the description or during the transaction..) but that's cool, because the price I got it for made it worth the effort! So I put the "Jag in the rack and this is what I saw:
So I commenced to break it down:
To get to this:
But I got the fork all straightend out! I broke my conduit bender
AND my cheapie bench vice!

But I wasn't gonna be deterred!! So I took the fork to work and slid it in between the grating on the landing that goes down to the boiler room. Slipped a pipe over the steerer tube and gently benter' straight! To get this:
With the old headset...
I scored a "NOS" headset at the AA Show...Now to put 'er back together...
New vs. old...
Back on the bike...
I saw this a the AA Show:
(More on this later.... )
Button'er up!...
Full brake job...
Re-routed the brake cables and 'fine tuned' the rear caliper...
Then I added this tonight...
I bought a speedo with a reeeal nice cable at the 'show...But it was too short! :x But Hey! The Flying Dingo hooked me up with TWO cables and TWO gear drives!!! You rock, Dingo!!! Thanks! So I put this speedo on that I had around and one of Dingo's cables will go on it ASAP! I also bought all new graphics for it from the fine folks (Lisa! ) at Memory Lane...Pics as I get to it... Thanks for lookin'!
