Ozzmonut...are S7s really that much more to own and operate? I splurged with my Jaguar resto and got a pair of Westwind repros for $100. THAT was expensive, but all the other tires I priced for S7s weren't too bad.
wheels made for s-7 rims are usually expensive. Niagara cycle has some that are decently priced. Otherwise s-7wheels are a disease. Generally they take a schwinn-sized , overpriced tire that is middleweight (26x1.75). Not only do they force you to use a middleweight tire, but they do it at a high cost. Therer is a 26x2.0 tire available, but you still pay high and lose .125 inches as opposed to plain rims/tires. There is a lot of trash talk about hem, but if you are into middleweights then they are the holy grail. You have to decide between the rarity of middleweights in comparison to the market, and the ease and simplicity of standard parts and their function.
