I have googled Bicycle Stereo,Bike MP3 and the such.

If anyone has any links to cool Bike Stereo Mods
I would love to see what's out there.

The weirder and more powerfull the System...the better.

thanks in advance,

peace,
Kev.

That's why I want a basket upfront: for the ghettoblaster which amplifies my iPod!

Found a few things on Flickr:

I did mod an Atari 2600 jr to fit my iPod, but it's not loud enough to use on a bike :(

I am really considering building a music trailer for my bike using the idea from that instructables site(not the helmet stereo, but the schwinn bike stereo)

Only thing about using a car stereo is that the battery to power it would way a ton. But a music box would be "the shizz"

I have spent all day today from Stereo Store's to
Guitar shop's tossin around Idea's and creating in my brain.

I had an Reinell Ski Boat a few years back,
and my 200HP outboard only put out 14 AMPS.
My System I had in the Boat drew about 45 amps.

So I had a friend who was an Elevator Installer give me a battery.
It was a DEEP CYCLE GEL Battery that is always used in a series with others
in Elevator Systems as a back up Power Soarce for Emergencies.

I was Running a 200 watt Alpine Sub Amp
A 25watt by 4 Mid range amp.
2 tweeters
2 Pioneer 6 by 9's
and an Audioban 12 inch Sub.

when my boat was off and I was drifting in the River I could
listen to music...CRANKED!!!!...for about 6 hours before it started
to go quiet.

The Deep Cycle battery was about 14 / 8 / 8 inches...

I think I am going to be building a Trailer because I know what my boat did.

as well...my Brother used those LONG Skinny deep Cycle batteries
that are from Golf carts...they lasted in his Camper Van for a long time!

I was looking for mounting options,
but i guess I am going to try a Trailer idea..
I may run the Cable from my I Pod through the Bike Fame and to the back..

So,
off to the Pon shops I will go looking for cheap stereo equiptment.

I'll keep yaa'll posted,

peace,
Kev.

We bought one of our sets of speakers at Staples for about $40. It runs off of 4 AA's, and kicks out a decent volume (actually... it's usually too loud, so we hardly ever turn it up full blast). Here's a link to them

The other two we have came from a dollar/variety store on Main st, for about $10 each. The sound fairly decent, and best of all they were stinking cheap!

Basically, any store we go into that might possibly sell something like that we check out what they have. You find some pretty cool things for great prices that way. The important thing to look for when buying little portable speakers is something that runs off it's own battery source... otherwise your music fun time will only last so long.

I don't know if you have seen these. But after seeing this, I couldn't stop daydreaming about making my own music trailer.

Apparently there is a summer bike festival in Boulder Colorado called happy thursday.... hundreds of beach cruisers, and dance parties! I dont know about you guys, but im going to Boulder.

Check out these youtube videos, they are great
