I want my parents old bikes !

I found this photo of my Dad and my uncle and my mom said she had an old bike picture as well, My dad is on the right and I dont know what is but it looked like a sweet bike so I figure you guys could probably identify what these were....thanks Jim oh and the year should be about 58 with my Dad and maybe aboput 52 with my Mom[img]http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg195/holyrollin72/parents001.jpg[/img]

dads bike - Roadmaster maybe ?? i think ive seen those truss rods on either Roadmasters or Western Flyers maybe - just a guess tho. Badge kinda looks like a roadmaster too

Roadmaster for sure on your Dad's. The girl's has a distinctive tank, somebody will know.

yeah, +1 on roadmaster. i have a 59' roadmaster, and if that is, then by the looks of the camel style double top tubes, id bet it was pre 58'. looks like it is a 3speed as well, which always makes a cruiser that much more ridable. i'd love to have a time machine, and in a way, my 59' is one.

This sounds like a great movie script idea.

You go back in time to do something inane as stealing your Dad's bike when he was a kid. Then it creates a giant time paradox, the world blows up and you have to go back with it to fix the time-line.............................

FWIW, it's been done to death, except the bike part!

I don't know if my parents had bikes when they were kids- I kind of think not (Depression and all, you know...unpaved roads, too.) But when I was a kid, they had bicycles in Germany- 28" wheel bikes of unknown make. I'd like to have those, now, but not enough to go buy any. Various German bikes of that vintage do show up on Craigslist or Ebay from time to time.

yeah, the 59' amf roadmaster cruiser time machine. get a flux capasitor off ebay or craigslist, run it off concentrated tri flow lube, stainless steel wheel discs and when you get to 8.6 mph (cuz my cruiser will never see 86mph)... back to the future baby!!! call it Backpedel to the Future.
