Very cool. I have a throttle so they would not work but I have never seen them before and I sure they will look gooooood!
They fit 7/8" bars, not sure how your throttle works though. Does it use a sleeve that fits over standard bars. I have one of the China motor kits on a bike. Don't remember how the throttle setup works on it.

Seat goes nice with that rack!

Luke.
Thanks trying not to have a bunch of shiny stuff on the bike but it keeps creeping in.

Cool bike, love the lights!
Thanks they are a bit complicated for what they are, stress is good though.

Great conversion on that spotlight!

Luke.
Thanks Luke, not sure how bright it will be. I have yet to see it in the dark. Also wary of battery life. It may end up as a eye candy when mounted.

It's so hard to keep up with everyone. I just caught up from a little over a week ago and wow! I wish I was this far along, man it's lookin' good!
Yah hope to finish it up this month. July is going to be hectic. Thanks!

I put the battery pack back on the seat post tonight. It has a 12v pack and a 6v pack. I painted the clamps, they sorta disappear now. I also mounted the taillight. Now to run some wires.
Still waiting on a 23T rear cog to hopefully take up chain slack if that doesn't work I'll need to add an idler cog.

Finished wiring up the lights this AM. Bike still not complete but close to making a test ride. A few iPhone photos...still a grande finale coming to validate bike name.

Cool, that sure looks pretty darn close to finished!
Matches the truck too.

Prototype mockup experiment for handlebars crossbar. Two Minoura BH-95X bottle cage holder mounts. Aluminum tubing beat into submission at ends.

Since this seems to work, I'll find a piece of copper pipe and duplicate the aluminum fab, round off the ends. Might just paint the aluminum copper. I think it might look better mounted under the bars, rather hard to get a good look in the dark. I guess this is my contribution to the cut, hack and bend mentality of many of the builds going on which look great by the way. No welding equipment here and very basic power tools.
To me doodads are the essence of a Rat Rod. Plenty of clean sleek bikes in bike shops and big box stores.
City wide garage sale here tomorrow, pickings usually scarce though.

If your going to use copper, I would suggest cutting it so that it goes between the bars and then just use copper straps to attach it. If you stay with the clamp ons, I agree that it would look better underneath the bars.

I hadn't thought about the strap idea. I remembered having the cage mounts and that idea got stuck in my brain. Had some old tent poles. Went out and did the mockup in about 30 minutes. I read the other day that intelligent people are always wondering about stuff. Must be a bunch on here.

Bar debate going on in my head. The quick aluminum works. But copper attached with simple brackets might match the overall build better.

Need to round off the ends.
I think I have another bike with the same bars. So maybe I need two crossbars. Think I need to fabricate the copper version. Plenty of time left.

Copper crossbar in progress. Left side mockup. Measure twice cut once.

Now to get the other side to match.

Thanks to Kingfish for the crossbar suggestion. Whipped out a copper version. I used 3/4" copper pipe and copper mounting straps with 1/4"-20 hardware. I crimped the ends and cut to match bar angle.

I got lucky in getting the flat ends aligned on center. In my opinion the copper fits the build better than the aluminum one. Any thoughts?

Killer ride! :113:

I like the copper better ;)
Thanks junknutz. One thing I noticed is that the crossbar has taken some of the flex out of the handlebars. They feel more rigid, which had been a concern, now resolved.
