I had Jacob at Ideal Coatings powder coat a couple of Mongoose Motomag frame/fork combos for me and two sets of handlebars.

I picked them up today, and as always, I was super pleased with the results. He does good work at a fair price with quick turnaround times.

Here's how the parts looked before I dropped them off...

And a few shots of how they look now. He did the nickel plated frame in candy blue and he did the blue frame in orange.

I got busy this evening while the kiddos played in the yard and threw this one together...

Jacob is a site supporter and he is able to ship parts back to you if you ship them to him and pay the shipping costs.

If you need any powder coating work done, shoot him an email or call him to get a quote.

oh what a sad and shameful way to get free powder coating  I gotta start my own web site.
but that blue is too sweet drill sargent

Ha Ha...yeah, with a single church income and three kids, you've got to get creative.

Jacob does good work.

In the past I have had frame and fork sets done for around $90.

That includes sandblasting and candy colors too.

On the blue above, he first does a chrome powder finish and then does a translucent blue over it.

they called me right back .. gave me a quote for 100 for a 26 inch bike and fork frame... and that was for the candy blue
pretty sweet deal .. then I got talked out of doing the bike ... a voice or reason stepped in.
good job voice or reason

So I managed to scrounge enough parts from the parts bin to put the blue 81 Motomag together this weekend.

I had a near mint set of Schwinn Scrambler wheels with Bendix 76 rear coaster and a Schwinn high flange hub up front.

Sugino snowflake chainring, Ashtabula crank, Messinger seat, Ashtabula stem, Motomag bars and Hunt Wilde grips.

Not overly crazy with the newer Kenda Comp II's, but I had a set on hand so what the hey. :p
